Spring Break

Even though we didn't "leave town" during Spring Break, we still had a fun week!!  On Tuesday, Madelyn started the day out with a trip to the orthodontist.  She got a rubber band put between 2 of her bottom teeth. :(  She was ok for most of the day, but her mouth was hurting later in the afternoon!  :(  During the day, we got to hang out with cousins at the park!!  It was great to see everyone & the kids had a good time!!

On Wednesday, I took the kids to the Riparian Preserve.  We were all set to feed the ducks - til we walked up & saw about 4 signs that said, "Do not feed ducks bread - it is not good for them!"  We took our full bag of bread & threw it away!  :(  (Luckily it was just a bunch of "heels" anyway!!)  We saw about 4 different types of turtles, lots of fish & a few different types of ducks!  It was pretty neat!  After we walked around for a while, we went next door to the library!  The kids each picked out a few books & we also got a few movies!

 No outing is complete without a visit to Circle K!!  ;)

  She LOVES reading at the little tables!  We go to the library every week, and we always have to read at the tables or on the couches!! ;)






On Thursday, Shayne took Madelyn & Noah to "Fill The Boot".  The fire dept. does this every year, to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy!  The kids like going & they love the free pizza & Gatorade afterwards!!  (And Shayne loves the free shirt - - to add to his fire shirt collection!!  ;)

Friday, the kids & I took a bunch of clothes (we cleaned out closets Thursday night!), to Once Upon a Child - we made $42!!  (And - - they only bought about 1/2 of what we took!!! ;)  After that, we hit a few Goodwills & got a ton of "new" clothes!! :)  I got Olivia about 8 shirts - all $0.99 each!!!  Madelyn got about 5 or so, a dress & some shoes!!  Her shoes are actually pretty cute!  They are kind of "Vans-like", and are black & zebra print & basically brand new!!  She LOVES them!!  How coincidental that they would have them there - in her size!! ;)  We paid $8 for them - kinda steep I know!!  (haha!)

Saturday morning, St. Patrick's Day, Madelyn & Hunter woke me up - - AT 6:45!!!  Madelyn had "helped" the kids make signs for "The Leprechan" the night before, and they each left him a few gold items - (ie. earrings, brads, etc!! ;)  Luckily, the Leprechaun stopped by & left some green treats in exchange for the gold!! ;)  They were thrilled!! :)

It was a good thing that the kids got treats, because we were headed to the movies!! ;)  We took the kids to see The Lorax!  It was a cute movie!!  This was the first movie that Olivia's been to since last summer!!  She did great!!!  We only went to the bathroom once during the movie!!  :)  

 It was so windy out & bright - since we were just in the dark theater - that none of them could really smile normally!! :)

After the movie, we went and ate at In-N-Out (well, Noah & I got Someburros!!)!  We came home & the kids played outside the rest of the afternoon!!!  Like I said, it wasn't an elaborate break, but we had a good time!!  Now - back to school!!  Hooray!! ;)  ;)
