Science Fair

Last week, Noah had his first science fair!!  He's been in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) Club all year, and this was the final event!!  :)  They met every Thursday, from 3:40 - 5:00, and talked about all sorts of fun science stuff!!  Some of his favorites were airplanes, rockets, making slime, Sub Zero ice cream, and pyramids!  For his project, we chose the question - "Can Sand Create Heat?"  We tested different amounts of sand in jars, and once shaken, they do produce heat - because of friction!!  It was pretty cool!!  Shayne was "in charge" of this project, (being that I've done every other class & book project all year!!!), but some how I ended up helping!!  ;)  The science fair was divided into 2 groups - 1st - 3rd grade, and 4th - 6th.  There were about 20 projects in each group!!  They gave out 3 - 1st place ribbons in Noah's group. . . . and he got one of them!!!  Woo hoo!!!  ;)  He also got some Sub Zero ice cream coupons!!  Way to go Noah!!  (and Dad & Mom!! ;)  ;)
